The Role:
Provides technical support, services and expertise to customers and other service personnel in determining and solving company or customer software, hardware, or operating system problems including consultation, diagnosis, problem verification, status reporting and resolution. Conducts a line of questioning that identifies the product problem while minimizing customer anxiety and increasing customer satisfaction. Prioritizes solutions according to customer schedules and downtime costs. This allows our customer assets to have high availability and to operate as efficiently as possible. May perform installation, startup, maintenance, servicing and commissioning of company and third-party products.

Reports where possible performance trends/problems to management, recommending resolutions. Implements corrective action, either directly or through other service personnel. May coordinate software installations, upgrades and revisions. May develop maintenance plans and schedules for assigned area. Under minimal supervision provides service to customers in supervision of installation, commissioning, servicing and repair of systems equipment. Range extends through analogue, analytical or digital or hybrid control systems. Ensures that all supplied equipment meets specification. Establishes and maintains procedures for the purpose of implementing revisions, retrofits and expansions in the field.

Key Tasks
• Contract customer site technical support
• On-call emergency corrective maintenance and support including 24/7 rotation
• Preventative maintenance visits
• Site application support
• In-house application support
• Upgrade of legacy equipment to the latest offerings
• Delivery of all aspects of the maintenance contract
• Support performance service initiatives, e.g. Loop management & alarm management
• Establish and maintain productive customer relations both internally and externally

The Successful Candidate:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline, or equivalent.

Skills & Knowledge

• Experience of process control and a proven background in the industry is essential, preferably Oil, Gas or Chemical
• DCS experience is a must
• Installation, commissioning and site acceptance experience
• Motivated to learn and improve technical knowledge and capability
